Since I've moved to the Triangle, one of my favorite hobbies has been exploring new places to get good local beer. So much so that I've decided to document my experiences and give insight to those who may be looking for their new brewery watering hole. In my reviews, I will give my personal account along with what others are saying about these places via Yelp, and their beers via Untappd.
I will judge these breweries/taprooms/brewpubs/bars on a number of categories:
brewery design, location, house brews, food (if they sell it), service, and overall vibe of the spot.
Design is key to any awesome brewery. A sweet bar, seating/standing room that invites conversation, and a nice view of their brewing operations are things I look for when giving a brewery an 'A' on their design.
Location, location, location. Is it easy to get to or out in the middle of nowhere? Is there parking to accommodate the amount of guests the brewery can hold?
The reason why we're all here: THE BEER. Vast selection, awesome seasonals, diverse styles, and obviously quality are what we expect.
What better than a place with yummy grub to go with their homemade beers! Made in house or provided by a food truck, if its good, its good.
Nothing stinks more than having unknowledgeable and slow bartenders/servers. We want to know about the beers and the brewery, and we're praying you have the answers. Tell us about new and special beers, and don't let my glass go empty!
When you go to a brewery, you want to see people having a good time. The vibe is the atmosphere and how it makes you feel! Good vibes are pivotal to having a great neighborhood hangout.
